I Am So Into It

The last six months have been aggressive.

Family members had health crises.
I visited Cuba for 45 minutes.
I held a line for the first time in three years of flying and got to buddy bid with one of my besties.
I judged Miss Delaware and coordinated the judging for Miss Vermont.
I turned 28.

In the midst of all of this, I've also been falling in love with a handful of products that I've been raving about to people on Facebook and in person.

So here they are, all in one place:

I waited forever to try these flats before pulling the trigger in January and ordering them. Seriously one of the best decisions I've made all year.
If you've been on the fence about trying them, the link above will give you $20 off (which you should use to buy extra insoles) and you can thank me later.
Beyond being ridiculously comfortable, the biggest thing for me about these shoes is that they are MACHINE WASHABLE.
I'm not a super germ fearing person, but airplane floors are gross, guys. #itsneverwater
Being able to toss these in the wash and set them out to dry has been a game changer. The insoles are also machine washable, which is great if you're a sock hater like me.
I now own them in black, light blue, and hot pink.
Of course I ordered the pink the day it dropped, have you even met me?

2. Ritual Vitamins

Another product I waited forever to try, thinking that anything so hyped in my social media feeds couldn't possibly live up to its claims. Then what really sold me was my girl, Allie Curtis, saying she'd been using them.
Allie is basically a goddess so I gave them a shot.
Have they changed my world? Not yet- but I'm definitely into how pretty they are, how minty they are, that they don't bother my stomach, and since I'm 28 now my doctor thinks a multivitamin is a good idea sooooo.... I'm sticking with them.

3. I accidentally got all into essential oils.

That same doctor who was all "be an adult, vitamins!" also worked out a new plan to manage my seasonal allergies that aren't seasonal because I'm a flight attendant.
I started diffusing a sinus clearing essential oil blend recently and I've had to grudgingly admit that in addition to smelling pretty, it's been easier to breathe.
It's bad enough that I enjoy patchouli scented things, but now I'm apparently an essential oils person and I'm learning to live with that.

4. Beautycounter Overnight Resurfacing Peel

Look, the ingredients in so many skin care and cosmetic products are absolutely horrifying. In the US, we haven't had a major regulatory overhaul on ingredient standards since the 1930's which means that there's essentially no accountability for the safety of what we put on our body's largest organ everyday.
(Your skin, people.)
Beautycounter is leading the charge to get safer beauty product standards written into law in the United States, which is a big reason that I signed up to be a consultant with the company.
The majority of personal care products are purchased and used by women, which makes the potentially harmful consequences of the questionable ingredients a women's health issue.
They have an extensive list of ingredients that will never be in Beautycounter products because of the harm that they cause- they call it "The Never List"- and even when I purchase non-Beautycounter personal care products I try to cross reference the ingredients list with The Never List to make informed choices about what I'm putting on, and therefore in, my body.

The biggest reason I hopped on board the Beautycounter train is that the products actually WORK. They're safer, but most importantly to me, they're effective and they do what they say they will.

I was so excited when this peel dropped because now that I'm aging (HELLO AGAIN, LATE TWENTIES), I've been looking for something that would simultaneously get rid of dead skin AND moisturize but that didn't have scary ingredients in it.
My general policy is that if a skincare product isn't safe for a pregnant mom, I should try to avoid it as I would someday like to attempt to be a pregnant mom and it's not easy to get that bad stuff completely out of your system.
I follow the peel with this moisturizer and this eye cream.
Countermatch is a skincare line of miracles.

I am an extremely pale person. There's just no way around it.
My skin color could best be described as "paper" or "blindingly white".

Actual footage of Selena from when we met.
(JK, but this is what it actually would look like.)

When we lived in Indonesia, my mom basically dipped us in a tub of sunscreen every day and we still managed to burn.
Now that I'm an adult, I've been wearing products with SPF on my face every day for years and I've recently noticed there's a difference in the texture of the skin on my face (that I've paid attention to) and the skin on my neck (which I've ignored).

Accurate depiction of my reaction to my own stupidity.

I realized it was time to wear sunscreen on the skin that I expose consistently to the sun- my neck, chest, the back of my neck, my hands, and arms.
So far so good this summer- I've been burn free- but only time will tell if this extra effort pays off in the long run.
Unsurprisingly, I've turned to Beautycounter once again for a daily sunscreen that works, smells good, doesn't make me even whiter, and doesn't hurt the environment.
Oh, it also comes in a convenient travel size.

Beautycounter: Why I'm In

I am a fairly skeptical person.

When I was going through sorority recruitment years ago, I was just WAITING for someone to try to haze me because I had heard all the rumors and I was ready to be a whistle blower.

The hazing never actually happened and I ended up with a group of sisters for life.
Chi O till I die-o.

I tend to approach situations optimistically, but with my eyes wide open.
Not everything that glitters is gold, or even a good AB rhinestone.

So when my pal/hero Kristin Ingram (Miss Virginia 2005) started promoting this company called Beautycounter I was mildly interested (because she IS SO COOL YOU GUYS) but mostly skeptical.

I assumed that it was like most other sell-from-home makeup/skincare companies: possibly a pyramid scheme, with products that are just OK but definitely not as good as what I could find elsewhere.

Well. I was wrong.

I suspended my skepticism long enough to actually have an open mind and learn about the company.
I was impressed by what I heard.

I heard about a company committed to getting safer, effective, high quality products on the market AND committed to advocating for change in the cosmetics industry.
Beautycounter cosmetics, skin care, and other products are free of 1,500 toxic chemicals that can have an adverse impact on your health.

Product safety is a women's rights issue.
Women use the vast majority of personal care products: toiletries, skin care, and cosmetics.
In the European Union, there are over 1,300 chemicals that have been banned from use in the formulas of personal care products.
The United States has partially banned only 30 of those harmful and potentially toxic chemicals.

It is so icky to think about, but everything you put on your skin seeps into your body.

For a while I just chose to ignore this fact.
Everything causes cancer these days, right?

But I've reached a point in my life where having kids sometime in the next decade is a tangible concept, and I'd like to do what I can to keep myself healthy for that whole... thing.

You know, possible pregnancy and motherhood.
(Ick, but like, also babies are cute.)

There's really no rush. Seriously. But still. Eventually.

I've tried a few "clean" or "honest" products here and there, but I'd mostly given up on it because they just weren't quality skincare products.
They didn't work, or worse, I had an allergic reaction to them.

So even after I was impressed by everything I learned about Beautycounter as a company, I held off buying anything until I actually tried the products.

Kristi mailed me some samples and as soon as I put them on my face I knew I was a goner.

You guys, these products are outstanding.

Seriously, my biggest hangup about using products sold by independent consultants in the past has been the quality and the effectiveness.
I've tried products in the past that have been just ok, but I could easily get something better at a nearby beauty supply store or in Europe on a layover.

This is different.

The one that really sold me on the whole line is the Cleansing Balm

I've used a few fantastic cleansing balms or oil cleansers in the past, but they were either too expensive (think $135 for a single tub) or I just wasn't sure exactly what was in them and that skeeved me out a little bit.

This balm blew all of them out of the water. (heh)
Figuring (correctly) that it would be a perfect addition to my ten step skin care routine
I tested it by using it to wash my face AFTER I'd already used my normal cleanser, and it removed makeup traces I didn't even know existed.
My washcloth was covered in grime that I normally would have just LEFT ON MY FACE.
I was instantly impressed by Beautycounter skin care. Boom.

So I was all "KRISTI SIGN ME UP FOR EVERYTHING" and then my bank account was like "CALM DOWN AND DO THIS THE SMART WAY".

And so, as of today I can hook you up with outstanding products (that are free of 1,500 harmful chemicals) as a Beautycounter Consultant.

For those of you keeping score in the back, yes, I now have three jobs AND I help my mom with her businesses AND I do a little bit of volunteer work on the side. Oh, and I cross stitch. And take in special needs dogs. And somehow have a boyfriend who still wants to hang out with me.
Even my side hustles have side hustles.
#MillennialLife amirite??

But I'm SO impressed by these products and by the mission of this company that I'm willing to make room in my life for this ONE MORE THING.

So come at me, y'all.

If you've already heard about Beautycounter, maybe through their partnerships with Target, J Crew, or goop, and you've been wondering where to buy Beautycounter products, look no further!

I'm ready to help you get your hands on some outstanding products.
If you're unsure until you try a sample, hit me up and I'll hook you up.
And speaking of hook ups, if you want some free/discounted products there are ways to make that happen too.

Here we go!

Tuesday Top Three: Lip Stuff

I am a lipstick girl.

Lipstick is such a simple way of looking put together- like you're a polished person who can get things done. Lip stains are GLORIOUS if you want to avoid constant retouching, and obviously lip balms are necessary for LIFE.

I occasionally get cold sores that look like terrible blisters on my upper lip. They're unattractive, painful, and hugely embarrassing. I try to avoid an outbreak at all costs, so I rely on medicated lip balms in conjunction with my lipsticks and stains.

Right now there are three products that I turn to constantly.

My Current Top Three Favorite Lip Products:

For many years, I was a devoted user of Burt's Bees Clove Oil Lip Balm. It was moisturizing and it helped me keep my occasional cold sore outbreaks in check. They tragically stopped making it a couple of years ago, and when I finally found this little gem I was over the moon. This lip balm smells delightfully herbal, it glides on beautifully, and it's very moisturizing. I keep a tube in my pocket or my bag at all times.

2. Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Fig
This lipstick is the most perfect neutral shade of pink! On days when I want to look put together but I want to keep the lips toned down, this is my go-to. It's a lovely color but I also love that all Bite Beauty products are made from food grade ingredients.

3. Sephora Collection Creme Lip Stain in Always Red

This stain is the perfect red and it does. not. quit.
It's the ultimate Flight Attendant lipstick. No matter what happens during my workday, I know that my lipstick will look flawless from van time to debrief when I've got this on.

Beauty on a Budget

Until I was about 19, makeup was a slightly terrifying and impenetrable mystery.
Outside of my stage experience for musical theatre and Miss Vermont's Outstanding Teen, I didn't really wear makeup and I was pretty intimidated by it.
My mom isn't much of a makeup person, so most of what I've learned has been from professional makeup artists, YouTube tutorials, and backstage at pageants.

These days, I have a makeup routine that has been honed by experience and trial and error.

I'm a high points roller at both Sephora and Ulta, but as a Reserve Flight Attendant I don't always have the cash to buy all of the products I'd like to.  #reservelifeprobs

Plus, sometimes you get stuck somewhere and you have to make it work with whatever you can scrounge up at your local drug store.

Here are short and sweet makeup reviews for my current Top Three Budget Beauty Favorites:

1. Sonia Kashuk Tinted Brow Gel for Target

As someone with SUPER blonde (i.e. invisible) eyebrows, I compulsively color them in every single day, even if I'm not putting any other makeup on. Using a tinted brow gel has made a world of difference for me. I picked this up at Target because I was out of my usual brow gel, and I have to say I've been very pleased. The spool is a little bit too large, but after using it once I got the hang of it. I've found the taupe color works really well for my coloring- it doesn't look to brown, and it's not too light. I'm not sure that it's actually a universal color, but it does work well for my blondie purposes.

2. Revlon Colorstay Eye Liner

I've been using this eyeliner for years and years. I've tried gels, liquids, and other pencils, but this one is what I come back to again and again. It's inexpensive, doesn't budge once you put it on, and has a built in sharpener.

3. Ulta Twisted Volume Mascara

I bought this the other day on a complete whim. I needed a new mascara because my others were well past when they should have been thrown out, and this one was $11.
I'm so glad I tried it!
I've been delighted by the volume that it gives my lashes, the minimal clumping, and the staying power. Plus, the wand has a clicky turny thing in the top that lets you adjust how much twist there is in the brush. It's kind of fun to play with and there is definitely a difference in the volume between setting 1 and setting 4. The difference isn't insanely dramatic, but it exists.

So those are my current fave beauty budget buys!
Let me know if you've tried them, or how they work out if you give them a whirl.

Red Lipstick Resistance

It's no secret that I'm a pretty political person.

But the truth is that I kind of hate politics.
I don't like playing games.
I want to find straightforward solutions to problems so that we can help people.

But I've learned over the past 16 years of my involvement in politics that problem solving isn't always as simple as we'd like it to be.
Real and lasting change is complicated and it takes time.
Real change is never simple, and it's never easy.

You also probably know that I'm an outspoken feminist. I mean, it's literally in all of my social media profiles.
I don't pretend to be an expert on every issue, but the question of gender equality and fairness is the cause that has set my heart on fire for my entire life.
I wrote my first letter to the editor of our local paper when I was ten years old, complaining about sexism and gender stereotypes in a column.
My mom didn't coach me to do it.
(Frankly, she's still a little baffled as to how she managed to produce me.)
She just gave me the tools to express the outrage that I felt, which involved a handwritten letter faxed in to our local newspaper.

For me, feminism and femininity go together like wine and ice cream.
I love them both and they make my life better when I embrace them responsibly.

The "classic Flight Attendant" look is hyper feminine, and of course involves those signature red lips.
I've been into bold lipstick for as long as I've been seriously into makeup.
I won Miss Vermont in a bright red dress with bright red lips.
Bold lipstick has been my signature move for my entire adult life.

Today is the International Women's Strike/ A Day Without A Woman.

I already have the day off from my paid job, but I'm also going to be spending the day striking from as much unpaid work as possible. For example, I'm going to let my boyfriend lean in and take care of the dishes and cleaning the kitchen, but I'm still going to take care of the puppy while he's at work. She's a living baby creature who needs care. I can't strike from THAT.

As a union member, I proud of the connections that today has to the labor movement.

My favorite thing I'll be doing today is wearing red lipstick.

A lot of people struggle with the idea that this symbol of femininity has feminist origins, but it sure DOES.
It's also been a way that strong women express their bold power throughout modern history.

A quick synopsis:
Suffragettes defiantly wore red lipstick when they marched in the streets for the right to vote.
Rosie the Riveter wore red lipstick when she built our way to allied victory during WWII.
Hitler hated women wearing lipstick.

So fight back against misogyny, sexism, and Hitler, everybody.
Wear red in whatever form makes your heart glad, and stand in solidarity for equality.
Resist.

My 10-Step Korean Skin Care Routine

Korean skin care is one of the hottest beauty trends out there right now, and I am so on board.
The basic idea is that it's a routine that involves a lot of steps, a lot of high quality products, and you're going to end up with glowy lovely skin.
I dipped my toes in the water gradually over time, first by experimenting with Dr. Jart+ BB Creams, then Tony Moly Masks, and then I finally dove in with the full on 10-step Korean Skin
Care Routine.

One of the things that sold me on it was this article about embracing self-care as a radical feminist act.
The idea that taking care of ourselves as women is a way of fighting back against the misogyny rang so very true for me. I love embracing femininity as a way of fighting the patriarchy, and I want to make choices where I prove to myself and to the world that I value myself because I'm a woman, not in spite of the fact that I am a woman. Self-care is not the same thing as self indulgence. Read the article I linked to. It's seriously good.

But enough of my feminist soapbox rant and back to soap.

The basic steps of my Korean Skin Care Routine:

1. Remove makeup.
2. Wash your face with an oil based cleanser.
3. Wash your face with a water based cleanser.
4. Exfoliate.
5. Toner.
6. Essence
7. Mask.
8. Eye Cream.
9. Moisturize.
10. Sunscreen.

I had a lot of questions when I started this little project.

Aren't too many products harmful to my skin? Isn't over cleansing bad? Won't I strip away valuable things my skin needs to thrive? What makes this routine Korean? Am I culturally appropriating here? Isn't oil a BAD thing for skin? What the heck is with all of this aggressive cleansing? Do I have to do every step every day? Am I going to be able to easily lug this around when I fly? Will this clear up my skin magically?

Here's what I found out:

-Cleansing with "oil" helps your skin retain moisture.
-It really does take all that cleansing to get serious makeup off.
-The layers of moisture you add after the thorough cleansing make up for many sins.
-It's Korean because many of the products used are Korean exports and the priorities are traditional in Korean beauty. Here's a blog post about K-Beauty and questions around appropriation that I found informative. Like the author of Snow White and The Asian Pear, I've embraced this because I want better skin, self-care is radical enough without being exotic, and I love that this movement is bringing a little bit of diversity (and a focus on sun protection) to Western beauty standards.
-You don't do every step twice a day every day. I only exfoliate once or twice a week, and the same goes for masks.
-I've made this work pretty easily with my packing routine, but a big part of how I'm able to do that is because I'm a Flight Attendant and we're subject to different liquid restrictions when we're in uniform. That said, it's simple to get these products into tiny portable containers that work with TSA rules.
-This routine has definitely improved my skin. It has also made it very clear that at least 60% of how clear and glowy my skin is on any given day is impacted by my stress level, hormones, and how much water I've had to drink. Thanks, truth telling skin care.

Here are the skin care products that I've been using:

1. 2. 3. 4.

5. 6. 7. 8.

9.

1. Neutrogena Hydrating Makeup Removing Wipes.
I have used makeup wipes every single day for almost ten years. They're essential and these are my favorites.

2. TonyMoly Aquaporin Skin Care Kit.
This set has a group of K-Beauty essentials together in one box and I went with it because I'd used TonyMoly sheet masks before and liked them. This comes with an oil cleanser, a toner, an emulsion moisturizer, and a more intense cream moisturizer. I use the emulsion when I'm at home and the moisture cream when I'm on layovers.

3. Benton Honest Cleansing Foam
This cleanser is my absolute favorite product from this whole experiment. It smells so perfectly soapy, cleanses beautifully, and feels great. I'm in love with this product.

4. Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence
I don't know if this is a magical silver bullet for wrinkles yet, but I've enjoyed using it and it's done good work. There's a whole Snail Bee line by Benton that I'm planning on moving to as my other products run out because I've been so impressed by this brand.

5. Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze in Wine
This is a really great, usable exfoliating peel, but if the smell of fake grape flavor makes you feel vaguely sick, this is not the product for you. Try one of the other "flavors" in this same line like lemon or green tea. I've been very satisfied with these exfoliating pads and I don't find the smell unpleasant though it is strong while you're using the product.

6. TonyMoly I'm Real Mask Set
What a deal this set is! My favorites in terms of results have been the Lemon, Wine, and Aloe. I've seen immediate (if not long lasting) results and I definitely plan on repurchasing this to give as gifts.

7. Eborian Eye Cream
This company is so interesting- they're a Korean/French brand and I've loved this eye cream. The other day I forgot to apply it at night and when I woke up the next morning it totally showed. When I do remember to use this (which is 99% of the time) my under eyes are moisturized and the lines are less noticeable.

8. Fresh Rose Face Mask
This mask is pricey but one of the best things I have ever put on my face. When I use it consistently at night, my face looks refreshed and better than ever the next morning. It moisturizes and somehow magically also deals with any spots I have hanging around.

9. Dr. Jart+ Waterfuse BB Cream
I'm in love with this BB Cream. It's pale enough for me, moisturizing, has a good SPF, and my skin instantly looks 100% better when I have it on. It's the closest thing I've found to a miracle product.

I hope you feel empowered to give some of these products a role in your daily skin care line up!

Five Ways Running for Office and Being a Flight Attendant Are Exactly the Same

I recently announced that I would be running for public office in Vermont. For those of you who haven't known me for longer than five minutes, being an elected official has been my goal since I was ten years old.
Along my political journey, I was lucky enough to begin my career as a Flight Attendant, which is perfect because in Vermont we have a part-time citizen legislature. All of our Representatives and Senators have other jobs because they only convene four days a week for about four months of the year.

I don't plan on writing about politics much on this blog- this is a space for packing tips, products I'm in love with, and my advice on applying to be a Flight Attendant.

That said, I have noticed five ways in which my life in the sky and my life in politics intersect.

5. You deal with the public.

There are people in this world who find interacting with the general public to be challenging and exhausting. I don't. I'm an extrovert's extrovert.
My favorite thing about being a Flight Attendant? It's the people.
I love meeting passengers and coworkers who have completely different life experiences than I do. I adore interacting with locals on my layovers, learning about the place they live and how they live there.

People are also my favorite part about running for office.
The best part of politics is helping people. Whether it's connecting a constituent to a service they need, answering questions about the democratic process, registering a first time voter, or answering questions about my positions on the issues, the best part of all of this is the opportunity to help people.

4. You know how to be patient and calm with people who don't understand the rules.

On the aircraft, the rules we enforce are to keep you safe. Most of those rules come from the Federal Aviation Administration and are the result of studying what has gone wrong in the past when an accident or situation has resulted in injury or loss of life. For example: you're required to put your seat backs forward, your tray tables up, and to stow your bags completely under the seat in front of you for takeoff and landing because those are two very vulnerable times during a flight. Those are the two points when you're most likely to have to evacuate the aircraft, and if (God forbid) that needed to happen, your reclined seat, open table, and bag could impede that evacuation process. So when we ask you to do those things, it's not because we're being controlling, it's because we want you to be safe.

When running for office, you're more likely to run into someone who isn't familiar with how to register to vote, where to get an absentee ballot, or a volunteer who isn't familiar with the legal requirements of the campaign trail. These things are less likely to compromise an individual's physical safety, but they are critically important to your future. Civic responsibility and engagement are extremely important parts of being a citizen of this great country.

If I encounter confusion or resistance in either situation, I just explain the rules with a smile, offer information, and ask the person I'm interacting with (politely) to change what they're doing.

3. You know how to follow the law.

As a Flight Attendant, if it's a Federal Aviation Regulation applicable to the aircraft cabin, you have it memorized and you follow it. As a political candidate, you follow all kinds of laws about campaign donations, financial disclosures, and many other things. (Examples: how far a sign can be from a road, and laws about putting pamphlets in mailboxes.)

If you're lucky enough to win an election, you're going to be making the laws so you'd sure as heck better be good at following the law.

2. You're trained to be calm in a crisis.

I constantly encounter people on and off the plane who have absolutely NO idea that Flight Attendants are on the aircraft to protect passengers in an emergency. Our main job has nothing to do with offering you coffee, tea, or water. In the air, we are the police, the fire fighters, the EMTs, the counselors, and anything else that needs to be done to ensure that our passengers are safe. Trust me, you could absolutely pour your own drinks and you can bring your own snacks, but I'd like to see you evacuate a burning airplane with 180 people on it in under 90 seconds.

During a political campaign, there will be many twists and turns. Some of those can throw you for a loop. You just have to be calm, methodical, and as we say in the aviation industry, your training will kick in.

1. The sexism.

Depressingly, the number one way that being a Flight Attendant is exactly like being a woman running for public office is the sexism.

I don't just mean the sexual harassment that can so frequently occur on the airplane,
I mean the constant undercurrent of skepticism whenever I tell anyone, male or female, that I'm a Flight Attendant. People hear "flight attendant" and they think "ditzy", "stupid", and "brainless".

When I tell people I'm running for office, it takes them a second to wrap their heads around it because I'm young, I'm blonde, and I'm female.

The last time I ran, other candidates in the race made comments to me about the large purse I carried ("Did you bring lunch for all of us in that thing?"), my physical appearance, and my clothes.

Now, some people might say "Oh, they were just joking! They didn't mean anything by it."
I'm actually pretty good at not being offended when I can tell that people aren't being malicious. I generally don't mind when people call me a stewardess instead of a flight attendant, as long as they aren't being intentionally derogatory.
Here's a good way of determining if your comment or joke is sexist: ask yourself, "Would I make the same comment about a man?"
If the answer is no, you're being sexist, and no matter how accidental it may be, it's wrong.

Some people use age as a stand in for gender.
They might say "Well, you're awfully young." but sometimes what they mean is "What could you possibly know about hard work? You're just a girl."
There are people who have questioned, and who will continue to question, if I'm qualified to run for public office given my age. To anyone wondering about that: my age is an asset.
We need to have diverse voices that represent our electorate sitting in our chambers of government.
In Vermont, 35% of our population is between the ages of 20 and 44.
Our median age is 38.
And yet, the average age in our House of Representatives is 60 years old.

51% of our population is female, but only 41% of our State Legislators are female.

In order to live up to the promise of our democracy, we need to have voices at the table that are representative of our population.

The best way to fight sexism in the sky or on the ground is by raising awareness, talking about it, and being bold.

So basically, in the words if the indomitable Leslie Knope:

Thirsty Thursday: Skincare Edition

When I started Flight Attendant training I knew that once I started flying all the time I was going to need an impressive moisturizing situation to handle the wear and tear on my skin. Enter the Korean beauty line, Dr. Jart+. I've been using Dr. Jart+ skincare products for about a year now, and let me tell you, I'm obsessed. Here are a few of my favorites and two products I'm dying to try.

Sheet masks are the coolest. They help your skin and you get to look like a super creepy horror movie character. It's a win-win. This one is delightfully cool and I've found it's fabulously plumping.

This little bottle is an absolute everyday essential. I use it every morning, whether or not I'm wearing makeup that day.

I have been super super impressed by this product. I got it as a sample and LOVED how full the coverage was without looking cakey or makeupy. It's the first BB cream that I've truly been able to sub in for my full coverage foundation and it's very moisturizing. It works perfectly over the Ceramidin Liquid.

If ever a perfect facial moisturizer existed, it's this one. That's really all I have to say about that.

I haven't tried these bad boys yet, but I'm just dying to. Colored clay that turns into foam? A combo kit? Sign. Me. Up.

I'm not really a contouring pro, but I feel like this kit could make me one. I'd love to give it a try because this seems like it could totally work.

Flight Attendant Makeup

When I’m on the plane, I’m always slightly confused about how to reply when my coworkers or passengers tell me my skin looks great… Do I tell them it’s makeup? Tell them it’s because I drink a lot of water? Most of the time I just smile and say thank you. As a Vermonter, I’m more likely to be self deprecating than I am to be graciously thankful, but I’m working on it.
The only reason I have any idea what to put on face is entirely because I was Miss Vermont a few years ago. Between YouTube videos, working with a variety of makeup artists, and experimenting with products (I have WAY too many VIB points at Sephora) I’ve developed a pretty decent makeup system, if I do say so myself.
